A visitor-centered approach to improve the museum experience
In preparation of an upcoming renovation, the Textilemuseum and -lab wanted to learn more about their visitors: Who were they, why did they visit the museum, and how could their experience at the museum be improved?
Hanne Marckmann and I interviewed staff, tour guides and visitors during two very different major exhibitions.
The result was a presentation and report of our findings and recommendations. New ideas about communication, wayfinding and programs were shared, and some older initiatives were brought to the attention again. Some of these will be implemented right away, others are input for the renovation.
